Diabetes can be prevented by fibers

10/31/09 | by Ajit | Categories: Diseases

Everybody talks of fiber. What is the right fiber and how do we gain maximum benefits?

Fiber has very important role to play in keeping us fit. Let us not be confused with only green vegetables. Fiber is available in fruits, vegetables, grain and seeds. The experts have also made the ‘Fiber’, a hot topic since its consumption will improve the digestive system and thereby keep us free from many scaring problems, such as Diabetes, Cancer, Colon problems, excessive Cholesterol leading to heart problems.

It is very natural that we eat to gain energy for the working and development of our body systems. Once it is properly digested our body draws all the nutrients. The waste material is pushed out of the body through sweat, urine and stool.

Any slackness in the digestive system may cause dis-ease. The system tries to improve on its own in a natural manner but we have to use our intelligence in avoiding reasons for the inconveniences. If we overlook, the problem gets aggravated and the problems get established. We call it by different names.

*Regular intake of fibers and drinking water can help us to keep our digestive system in better form even in our old age.
*Fibers help in lowering the absorption of glucose. As such it avoids dangerous glucose levels
*Unhealthy contents (toxins) get stacked in intestines. Fibers help in dragging out the toxins, comfortably.
* Fibers help in reducing the absorption of cholesterol. Higher intake of fibers can reduce unhealthy cholesterol.

Many sources are available for improving the intake of fibers. To name them:

1. Fruit: Colored fruit have been regarded highly for its nutritional values. Consume it with the skin since it is very rich in fiber. Berries are considered very rich in fiber content. In spite of its sweetness it has very low glycemic index.
2. Vegetables: Colored vegetables are certainly valued for its nutritional content. Its skin and edible seeds has very high fiber content. Sprouts are also very good source of fiber.
3. Nuts: It is the easiest way to add fibers to your body system. Eat it with the skin, as far as it is possible. It is equally good for the brain and the heart.
4. Seeds: It is anther great source for fibers. The seed casing and the pulp, both are great source of fibers. It make great snacks.
5. Legumes: Green beans are better source of fiber.

Try to spread your intake of fiber during the whole day in place of restricting it only during your meal time. Regular intake of water will help in gaining maximum benefits from fibers.

Important: Corn causes increase in blood sugar.

Man is desired by women for his Abs – Most surveys

10/26/09 | by Ajit | Categories: Diseases

Women voted abs as the sexiest body part on a man compared to biceps.

Men love to go to the gym and try but those exercises don’t help them to loosen the body fat to uncover those hidden abs. Guys that are “lean and cut” are very rare.

People are wasting their hard-earned money on worthless fat-loss products and six-pack abs gimmicks. Fitness industry is selling all of this garbage that isn’t going to do anything at all to change your body for the better… It’s only going to make their wallets fatter!

People have wasted thousands of dollars over the years on crappy supplements in the hope that they would magically transform their physique overnight to look like the fitness model. Those supplements, magic pills and powders, and ab gadgets do not help to get any results except wasting money.

Try the followings and find the difference. You will be happier with the results.
Do this workout at alternate short 1-minute bursts of high intensity cardio work in between weight training sets.

So for example, let’s say that you’re doing 4 sets of pullups or 4 sets of bench press…. well, in between the weight training sets, you do any type of cardio at a high intensity for 1 minute.

This 1 minute burst of cardio could be a 1 min blast at high speed on the treadmill, could be sprinting around a track if you have a track at your gym, or could be grabbing a jump rope and banging out a super high speed 1 min of jump roping between sets.

So your exercises are broken down like this:
weight training set #1
60 seconds high intensity cardio
weight training set #2
60 seconds high intensity cardio
weight training set #3
60 seconds high intensity cardio
etc, etc
new exercise weight training set #1
60 seconds high intensity cardio
new exercise weight training set #2
60 seconds high intensity cardio
etc, etc

This a tough style of workout and burns a TON of calories. If you find your workouts need a new boost, give this a try, and you’ll be shocked how hard this works you.
I hope you get better workout results!

Reversal of heart disease – natural way

10/24/09 | by Ajit | Categories: Diseases

A lady was sick. She could not walk fast. She used to loose her breath. She visited her Doctor who advised her to undergo Nuclear Stress test in late 2006. The recorded pictures showed the heart arteries were darkened due to plaque. It means all the arteries were clogged. The doctor advised her to go for a bypass surgery or at least a stent. But she refused.

She started taking “Linus Pauling cure/ Pauling Therapy”. She felt better within 7 days. She was regularly visiting her Cardiologist who confirmed that she was improving. She took another Nuclear Stress test in late 2007 which confirmed that her heart was clear from the plaque.

“Heart patients who elected to follow Linus Pauling’s advice recovered in approximately 30 days, and many experienced significant relief in as little as 10 days. The recoveries only occurred after these former patients adopted the high dosage vitamin C and lysine therapy as specifically recommended by Linus Pauling. These patients usually adopted the Pauling-therapy without their doctor’s knowledge or consent.”

The leading cause of death in the United States, the condition that modern medicine calls heart disease, or occlusive cardiovascular disease, is a chronic form of scurvy.

Chronic Scurvy: Heart disease is a misnomer, the underlying disease process reduces the supply of blood to the heart and other organs leading to angina ("heart cramp"), heart attack and stroke. The disease process is characterized by scab-like build-ups that grow on the walls of blood vessels. The correct terminology for this disease process is chronic scurvy, a slower form of the classic vitamin C deficiency disease.

Vitamin C deficiency has been linked to occlusive cardiovascular disease (CVD), AKA heart disease, for more than fifty years.

Linus Pauling, the world’s leading scientist, confirmed this fact experimentally.

After these experiments in 1989, Nobelist Linus Pauling and his associate Matthias Rath, MD, published their still unchallenged theory on the origins of heart disease (An important theory few cardiologist are even aware of.)

Deodorants may cause Breast cancer

10/23/09 | by Ajit | Categories: Diseases

Are you aware that the standard deodorant and antiperspirant is 90% aluminum? When you use it in your underarm region, it is easily absorbed in the skin particularly when the underarm region is shaved.

Once it is in the body, it mimies the hormone oestrogen, which is known to be involved in the development of breast cancer.

Researchers from the Keele University in Staffordshire in UK investigated tissue samples from 17 women who had breast cancer and found ‘significantly higher’ level of the metal in the underarm region of the breast than in the tissue from the other region of the breast.
Research team leader Dr Chris Exley said it was reasonable to conclude that deodorant were the most likely cause for those high level of aluminum in the underarm region of the breast.

So please take care. Try to restrict usage of deodorant and antiperspirants

Artificial Sweeteners –How dangerous?

10/14/09 | by Ajit | Categories: Diseases

Aspartame goes by the brand names NutraSweet and Equal. It is one of the first generation of artificial sweeteners and is 180 times as sweet as sugar.

At the end of 2008, aspartame was found in over 6,000 products including: carbonated soft drinks, powdered soft drinks, chewing gum, confections, gelatins, dessert mixes, puddings and fillings, frozen desserts, yogurt, tabletop sweeteners, chewable vitamins & sugar-free cough drops etc

Products containing aspartame are sold in over 100 countries and are consumed by over 250 million people worldwide.

The two primary components of aspartame, phenylalanine and aspartic acid, are amino acids that are combined in an ester bond. You normally consume these two amino acids in the foods you eat. These amino acids are harmless when consumed as part of natural unprocessed foods. However when they are chemically manipulated and consumed out of the normal ratios to other amino acids, they can cause problems.

Your body does require small amounts of these amino acids to function properly. However, the high concentration of these chemicals in the form of aspartame floods your central nervous system and can cause excessive firing of brain neurons. Cell death is also possible.
The chemicals in aspartame will be absorbed by your intestinal cells, where they will be broken down into other amino acids and byproducts. A large percentage of the absorbed chemicals will be used immediately in your small intestine.

Stored at warm temperatures or for a prolonged period of time, phenylalanine turns into diketopiperazine, a known carcinogen.

Incidents of breast or prostate cancer have been on the rise at a pace closely associated with the expanding use of aspartame throughout the world.

If you consume too much aspartame in a short period of time, you might also experience immediate reactions including nervousness, sweating, feelings of fear, and heart palpitations.

In pregnancy, the concentrating effects of the placenta can magnify phenylalanine levels in a baby’s blood by as much as four to six-fold, and can reach levels so high that cell death results.[11] It’s not much of a stretch to be concerned consumption of high doses of this chemical during pregnancy could result in birth defects.

The second largest component of aspartame is aspartic acid.

Aspartic acid functions as a major excitatory neurotransmitter in your brain. People who suffer from depression or have brain atrophy have been found to have low levels of aspartic acid in their bodies.

As you might expect, the chemical is found in abnormally high levels in people who suffer from seizures and strokes. In very high doses, aspartic acid can cause brain damage.

If you have diabetes, hypertension or are a smoker, your BBB may be compromised and you might experience a heightened reaction to aspartame. Your blood brain barrier (BBB) is a system of capillary structures that prevent toxins from entering your brain.

During the first year of life, irreversible brain damage can result from chemicals in breast milk that have crossed the unborn child’s blood brain barrier. And yet – few if any pregnant and breastfeeding women are warned of the dangers of consuming artificial sweeteners.

Keep in mind aspartame is completely metabolized by the human body, and its byproducts can create a serious risk to your health. Neurological damage can occur from long-term aspartame use.

There are also some 10,000 documented reports of adverse reactions to aspartame, including death. Since it is estimated only about one percent of people who experience a reaction report it, it is safe to assume at least a million people have had a reaction to this chemical.

Migraines are by far the most frequently reported reaction. Other commonly reported symptoms of an aspartame reaction include: headache, change in vision, sleep problems/insomnia, hallucination, memory loss, nausea and vomiting, dizziness/poor equilibrium, convulsions and seizures, change in heart rate, abdominal cramps/pain, fatigue and weakness, diarrhea & joint pain.

Equally alarming is evidence women of childbearing age who consumed aspartame during pregnancy were delivering babies with an increased risk of brain and spinal cord cancer.
I hope this report has convinced you one of the worst things you can put into your body, or feed to your family, is the artificial sweetener aspartame.

Weight loss – intelligently

10/13/09 | by Ajit | Categories: Diseases

Are you aware of the connection between poverty and obesity?

Rich food does not make you obese. The billion dollar fitness industry has created a myth – that expensive food supplements and organic foods are mandatory for good health.

It’s the TYPE of food, and the COMBINATION of the foods that make all the difference – that, and moderate calories, exercise, and proper mental disposition.

“Populations are no longer equal in terms of experiencing health problems. Low-income populations tend to experience all the health problems we worry about at greater rates.”

The five states with the highest obesity rates in the 2005 consensus include Mississippi, Alabama, West Virginia, Louisiana and Kentucky.

These same five states have higher rates of poverty than the national norm.

Meanwhile, the five states with the lowest obesity have less poverty. They are Colorado, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Each of these states also have more college graduates and stronger education programs.

Education in health and fitness does not need to be expensive, and it certainly does not take a rocket scientist to figure it out.

However, many fitness professionals and nutrition ‘gurus’ lend that impression.

If you visit a gym today, especially in a larger city, you’ll see a myriad of devices that, frankly, would give you a better workout if you tried to pick them up and move them out to the garbage dump.

It can be daunting and confusing for anyone! But, this doesn’t have to be the case. In fact, as so many people report in “Fit Over 40″, workouts can be done in your own home that will more than satisfy the needs of most people.

The same goes for nutrition. While a few people require “high-tech", expensive foods (for medical reasons usually), the vast majority of us can easily get the job done at the local grocery store.

The best way to inspire change is to create change in yourself. Start there, set the example, and the word will spread.

Anyone can be fit and healthy, and they can do it at ANY age, and at ANY income level above absolute poverty.

Permanent Weight Loss

10/11/09 | by Ajit | Categories: Diseases

Are you interested in permanent weight loss? If yes, you will discover the secret in the following lines. You can fulfill your wish to look slimer and smarter. You can add energies to your body and stay free from different ailments. You can add different vitamins, antioxidants and nutrients to your body without consuming any medicine or tablets/pills. You will surely realize that the slim people are not gifted but they are sincere people who love to take care of their body and its looks.

Since ancient times, fruits and vegetables has been preferred food. It is low in calories, high in volume and source of important nutrients. It helps the people to stay healthy, slim and full of bubbling energies.

It is important to note that the stomach looks for filling. Whether the food offers lesser calories or more calories, it has lesser nutrients or more nutrients, it has lesser fats or more fats, in all cases, the body demands a particular quantity. Either we consume fat rich food or low fat food, fried food or boiled food, the quantity is the basis. If the food is fat rich, the result is more calories which need lot of exercise and physical labor to burn or it gets deposited in the abdomen, thighs and other parts of the body.

Fruits and vegetables are great sources of manganese, copper, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, potassium, and Vitamin B1. It gets digested very fast therefore one can go for five to six servings during a day. Still the addition of calories to the body system will be lesser as compared to the calories earned after consuming processed food.

Just think of an example: Substitute beans and lentils for meat. The calories are about the same, but beans and lentils are high in fiber. Beans and lentils are more filling than meat because a quarter pound of beans has a greater volume than a quarter pound of meat.

Eating fruits and vegetables can turn off cravings for other types of foods and short circuit the food addiction cycle, helping to provide a boost to weight loss efforts. Nature has built into each of us the desire to eat because eating provides the body with the nutrition to function and maintain itself. If people choose to eat foods that do not contain the nutrients needed, the body will continue to send the signal that more eating is needed. Fruits and vegetables are nutrition powerhouses containing the vitamins, minerals, enzymes, fiber, antioxidants and protein needed for good health and avoidance of disease. When they are eaten, the body is satisfied and the signal to continue eating is extinguished.

Have you ever noted the importance of color of any vegetable or fruit associated with respect to the nutrients offered by it? There are few facts for your consideration:

Super greens: These vegetables should make up the foundation of your daily vegetable intake. Dark green leafy vegetables such as spinach, chard, turnip greens, mustard and collard greens, and deep green lettuces, are high in folate, a B vitamin that shows promising results in preventing heart disease. They are treasure chests of detoxifying chlorophyll. Broccoli and Brussels sprouts contain sulforaphane, a potent phytochemical found in all cruciferous vegetables that has been found able to detoxify carcinogens before they do damage to the body. Sulforaphane is also a potent antioxidant with a life in the body of up to three days, vastly surpassing many other antioxidants in staying power. Broccoli sprouts are the best source of supforaphane.

Super reds: Red fruits and vegetables are chocked full of lycopene, the carotenoid that offers high levels of protection against prostate cancer. Find lycopene in red bell peppers, watermelon, pink or red grapefruit, and tomatoes. Cooked tomatoes contain much greater levels of lycopene than tomatoes eaten raw. Red cabbage is full of vitamins and minerals. It is rich in Vitamins C and K, and has all the anti-cancer benefits of other cruciferous vegetables. And don’t forget to include red beans. They are one of the best sources of molybdenum and are loaded with protein.

Super oranges: Orange fruits and vegetables are high in beta carotene, notable for its ability to prevent cancers of the lung, esophagus and stomach. They lower risk of heart disease and boost the immune system to keep infections away and make sure cancers don’t get started. Carrots, sweet potatoes, mangos, pumpkins and oranges are the main representatives in this group. Each offers a unique profile of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Sweet potatoes are extremely rich in carotenoids and can be eaten by people allergic to nightshade alkaloids.

Super purples: Grapes, blueberries, prunes, and eggplant are the main representatives of the purples. They are known cancer fighters. The anthocyanins providing their distinctive color also give these foods the ability to ward off heart disease by preventing clot formation. Lutein, a carotenoid found in blueberries, reduces the risk of heart disease and stoke and guards against age-related macular degeneration. Prunes are packed with antioxidants. Antioxidants lead the fight against aging.

Super whites: Potatoes, white beans, cauliflower, mushrooms, bananas, onions and garlic are each unique in what they have to offer. Potatoes offer more potassium than just about any other food. Bananas provide energy boosting natural sugars along with Vitamins B6 and C. White beans offer lots of fiber and high quality protein along with a broad spectrum of minerals. Mushrooms are good vegetable source of Vitamin D. Onions and garlic are legendary for their ability to fight cancer, heart disease, and increase the overall antioxidant level of the body.

Super browns: This category is all about beans and lentils. These are foods with some of the highest levels of protein in the vegetable kingdom. Add some rice or corn and this protein is perfect for humans. Pintos and lentils are great sources of manganese, copper, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, potassium, and Vitamin B1. Their high fiber content keeps cholesterol levels right where they should be.

Upping the amount of fruits and vegetables in the diet is easy

Look at the list of super fruits and vegetables and pick out the ones you really like. Phase in your favorites at first and slowly phase out the processed foods and meat. You don’t have to give them up entirely, because your goal is simply to make fruits and vegetables a greater part of your diet. Once you begin eating more of them, you will find that you no longer have cravings. Even the craving for sugar and other sweets will be stilled by the delicious sweet taste of the fruits you choose. Try visiting a salad bar for lunch or dinner and filling your plate with a multitude of colors. As you add more and more fruits and vegetables you will build up your nutrient reserves and start to feel really great. The extra energy you have may even increase your interest in exercise. Replacing many meat and dairy products with fruits and vegetables will help you quickly lose any unwanted pounds. After awhile it will be you who looks young and captures attention.

Traditional medicines are not able to help in gaining relief from symptoms of menopause, male menopause, per menopause, weight gain and constant fatigue. The prescribed medicines surely show up their side effects.

The problems are basically caused due to normal transition of life. It has more to do with the working of adrenal glands and the toxins in our body.

Adrenal glands are the front-line defense against stress-related symptoms and illnesses. In addition, their proper function is critical to your hormone health.

The best way to support adrenal gland function is simply to rest. You must take time to allow your parasympathetic nervous system to work its magic.

There is a natural way which works to restore hormones, boost them higher using natural methods, and, if you are on HRT, supplement your life with specific nutrients to help keep you safe.

Certain herbs and nutrients can also support healthy adrenal function.
Vitamin C, ginseng (Panax spp), and rhodiola (Rhodiola rosea) have all been shown to provide powerful, natural support.

In a double-blind, placebo-controlled study conducted in Germany, researchers found that 3 grams of vitamin C in divided, sustained-release dosages kept blood pressure, anxiety and cortisol production under control after a stressful situation.

Combined with ginseng (Panax) and Rhodiola rosea, vitamin C makes a powerful adrenal support vitamin.
